Number 74. Eat 5 things I've never tried before

I actually forgot about this one, I was at a cookout a few weeks ago with some friends and the host's parents were there. His Dad came around with a plate asking people to try the "steak" of course I did and it was great. After I ate I found out it was venison. I guess the dad always tells people it's steak so that they'll try it without prejudice. Well it worked. I got to try a new food without even knowing it. I really recommend people try it.

Numer 5. Read 25 books

I read the last Dennis Lehane book, "Prayers for Rain" and at this point there's much more to say about his books. It was very good, similar theme and style as his other ones. On Amy's suggestion, I got "This is Where I Leave You" by Jonathan Tropper. If anyone has any more suggestions let me know!

Number 28. Pick a dentist

I'm one of those people that hates the dentist, I almost had a nervous breakdown once while getting Novocain shots. I had a good dentist a few years ago but he left Boston and his replacement was super annoying so I stopped going, that was 3.5 years ago. Well, I finally picked a new one, he's in Southie and I have an appointment next week for the initial evalutation. Depending on how it goes this item could be uncrossed off the list and the search could be on again. I'll keep everyone updated.

Number 5. Read 25 Books

So I've finished book #2, Gone, Baby, Gone. Notice a theme here? I saw the movie a while ago and from what I remember of it the book is quite different, I actually liked the book better than the movie. I have one more Dennis Lehane book to go then I'm going to have to find a different author. Any suggestions?

Number 2. Join a Book Club

First item I can cross off, I joined the "20ish & 30ish Boston Book Club" through Meetup. I'm not really interested in the book for June so hopefully the July book will catch my attention and I can go to my first meeting. I'll let everyone know how the first book goes.

Number 5. Read 25 Books

One book down 24 to go. I finished Sacred by Dennis Lehane over the weekend. Its the 3rd book in his Kenzie/Genaro series. I read the first two on vacation and loved them so I'm continuing on with the last three. If you liked Gone, Baby, Gone which he also wrote, I highly recommend reading the whole series.

Number 73: Go Paintballing. In Progress

I definitely didn't think that #73 would be the first thing that I started working on but as fate would have it today's Groupon is for Boston Paintball! For $20 I get equipment rental and 200 paint balls, a $35 value. Not bad. I'll be sure to post lots of pictures of the bruises and welts I'll end up with!

The Kickoff

After being inspired by Miss E1 and Miss Amy Deveau , I've decided to create my own 101 in 1001 challenge. The challenge is to create a list of 101 tasks to complete in 1001 days and then obviously complete them. Some are easy and others not so much but all of them should be interesting. So follow along on my adventure. Thanks!
